Broward
House, Inc. was founded in 1988 by a group of concerned persons who
realized that there were critical needs for quality care and support
services for Broward County individuals who were HIV positive.
Broward House served its first clients in July 1989 when it opened a
fifty two bed assisted living facility in Fort Lauderdale serving
Broward residents living with HIV/AIDS. As the needs of the HIV/AIDS
community grew and evolved, Broward House responded and developed
programs and services to meet those needs.
Today, Broward House has over 11 locations and offers both assisted
living and independent family living, medical respite, case management,
client advocacy, HIV testing and counseling, street outreach, a variety
of education and prevention programs, chemical dependency treatment,
mental health therapy, and support groups.
Broward House serves over 6,000 Women, Children, Men and Families
living with or at risk for the HIV/AIDS virus.
